On his last sentence, Umar’s eyes started to burn like sparks. Immediately he held Rumia’s arm tightly and without giving her a chance to recover, opened the door of the car and pushed her inside. Before she could recover, he stormed the car. She screamed seeing the car running on unknown roads.
“Stop the car.” He hit the steering wheel but it was unsuccessful.
“Stop the car or else I will jump.” He tried to open the door but the car doors were locked.
After going some distance, the car stopped. It was a hilly area. There was a rest house built on it. He got down and came towards it. He opened the door and grabbed her arm and pulled her out with a jerk and then pulled her towards the rest house. After reaching inside, he let go of her arm and closed the door and turned to look at her.
“You probably don’t know. Until today, no one has raised a hand on me. If there was someone else in your place, I would have broken his hand, but you…” He walked two steps closer to her while speaking in a state of provocation.
“I love you. I want to marry you. What’s the problem?” Seeing him coming closer, she was shocked again but spoke with courage.
“What do you think I will be afraid of your actions. The way you took my cousin away from me with fear and greed. Do you think you will control me like this. No way. I have never been yours.” I will not agree. If you kill me, I will never marry you. You are not worthy of being loved.”
On Rumiya’s words, Umar held her with both arms. Rumiya’s face turned pale.
“یہ تھپڑ مجھے تمہیں بہت پہلے ہی لگادینا چاہیے تھا تاکہ تمہاری اتنی جرأت نہ ہوتی۔تم نے میری خاموشی کا بہت فائدہ اٹھایا ہے۔دوبارہ کبھی میرے راستے میں مت آنا۔مجھے نفرت ہے تم سے۔”
اس کے آخری جملے پہ عمر کی آنکھوں میں چنگاڑیاں سی جلنے لگی۔یکدم اس نے سختی سے رومیعہ کا بازو تھاما اور اسے سنبھلنے کا موقع دیے بغیر گاڑی کا دروازہ کھول کر اندر دھکادیا۔اس سے پہلے کہ وہ سنبھلتی اس نے طوفانی انداز میں گاڑی چلادی۔گاڑی کا انجان راستوں پہ بھاگتے دیکھ وہ چیخی۔
“گاڑی روکو۔”اس نے سٹیرئنگ پہ ہاتھ مارا لیکن وہ ناکام رہی تھی۔
“گاڑی روکو ورنہ میں کود جاؤں گی۔”اس نے دروازہ کھولنے کی کوشش کی لیکن گاڑی کے دروازے لاک تھے۔
کچھ دور جاکر گاڑی رک گئی۔یہ کوئی پہاڑی علاقہ تھا۔جس پہ کوئی ریسٹ ہاؤس بنا ہوا تھا۔اتر کر وہ اس کی طرف آیا۔دروازہ کھول کر اس کا بازو پکڑا اور ایک جھٹکے سے باہر کھینچا اور پھر یونہی کھینچتے ہوئے ریسٹ ہاؤس کی طرف لے جانے لگا۔اندر پہنچ کر اس نے اس کا بازو چھوڑا اور دروازہ بند کرتے رخ موڑ کر اس کی جانب دیکھا۔
“تم شاید جانتی نہیں ہو۔آج تک کسی نے بھی مجھ پہ ہاتھ نہیں اٹھایا۔تمہاری جگہ کوئی اور ہوتا تو میں اس کا ہاتھ توڑ دیتا لیکن تم۔۔۔”وہ اشتعال کے عالم میں بولتے دو قدم چلتے اس کے نزدیک ہوا۔
“میں تم سے محبت کرتا ہوں۔تم سے شادی کرنا چاہتا ہوں۔کیا مسئلہ ہے اس میں۔”اس کو قریب آتے دیکھ وہ پھر بوکھلاگئی لیکن ہمت کرکے بولی۔
“آپ کو کیا لگتا ہے آپ کی اس حرکت سے میں ڈر جاؤں گی۔خوف اور لالچ سے جس طرح آپ نے میرے کزن کو مجھ سے دور کردیا۔کیا سمجھتے ہیں اس طرح مجھ پہ بھی قابو پالیں گے۔ہرگز نہیں۔میں کبھی آپکی بات نہیں مانوں گی۔بےشک آپ مجھے جان سے ماردیں میں کبھی آپ سے شادی نہیں کروں گی۔آپ اس قابل ہی نہیں ہے کہ آپ سے محبت کی جائے۔”
رومیعہ کی بات پہ عمر نے دونوں بازوؤں سے اسے تھام لیا۔رومیعہ کے چہرے کا رنگ اڑ گیا۔
