“Has shame and modesty also disappeared in this house?” Ranam Fatima was making tea in the kitchen. Ahsan had returned from the office some time ago and went to fetch Peshawar. Ranam Fatima went to the kitchen and there were only women in the house at that time. Ka’s room was next to the kitchen. Unbeknownst to him, Vijdan came to the kitchen due to some necessity and seeing her without a dupatta, he left the kitchen and started yelling loudly. Not understanding anything, Ranam Fatima came to the exit door of the kitchen.
“The limit has been reached, now the servant should announce before going to any corner of the house.” Standing in the lounge adjacent to the kitchen, there was a loud noise, Huma Begum and Samran also ran away on this noise. “کیا اس گھر میں شرم و حیا بھی ختم ہو گئی ہے۔” رنم فاطمہ کچن میں چائے بنا رہی تھی احسن کچھ دیر قبل آفس سے لوٹا تھا پشاور لینے گیا تھا رنم فاطمہ کچن میں چلی ائی گھر میں اس وقت صرف خواتین ہی ہوتی تھی ایسے نو بے دھیانی میں بنا دوپٹے کے کچن میں آ گئی تھی کہ اس کا روم کچن کے ساتھ ہی تھا اسے خبر ہی نہ ہو سکے کسی ضرورت کے تحت وجدان کچن میں آیا اور اسے بنا دوپٹے کے دیکھ کر الٹے قدموں کچن سے نکل کر تیز اواز میں چلانے لگا۔ کچھ نہ سمجھتی رنم فاطمہ کچن کے خارجی دروازے تک آئی۔
“حد ہو گئی اب بندہ گھر کے کسی بھی گوشے میں جانے سے پہلے اعلان کرے۔” کچن سے ملحق لاؤنج میں کھڑا سخت برہم نظر ارہا تھا آناً فاناً ہما بیگم اور ثمرن بھی اس شور پر بھاگی چلی آئی۔ رنم فاطمہ وائٹ شلوار سوٹ میں ٹخنوں سے اوپر شلوار کیے شرعی داڑھی اور سر پر ٹوپی لیے اپنے جیٹھ وجدان کو حیرانگی سے دیکھ رہی تھی۔
“او بے حیا شرم سے ڈوب مر اب بھی تن کے کھڑی ہے۔”ہما بیگم نے سخت نفرت سے رنم فاطمہ کو حقارت بھری نظروں سے دیکھتے ہوئے کہا تو رنم فاطمہ جیسے ہوش کی دنیا میں لوٹی۔
“کیا ہوا بگ بی؟”احسن کی نظر ابھی تک رنم فاطمہ پر نہیں پڑی تھی۔ہما بیگم کا تحقیر آمیز جملہ کانوں میں گونجا۔اس نے اردگرد کا جائزہ لیا اور رنم فاطمہ کو بنا دوپٹے کے دیکھ کر وہ اس کی طرف آیا۔
“یہ تم اپنی بیوی سے پوچھو جسے اسلامی طور طریقوں کی اشد ضرورت ہے۔ اسے سکھاؤ کہ مسلم عورتیں اتنی بے حیائی سے گھر میں نہیں دندناتی پھرتیں۔”وجدان اپنے نظریے کا سخت تھا۔
“ہر کسی کے گھر کا ماحول الگ ہوتا ہے بگ بی۔ رنم کا دھیان نہیں رہا ہوگا کہ آپ گھر میں موجود ہیں۔” احسن رنم فاطمہ کے وجود کے اگے ڈھال بنا کھڑا تھا۔
